when technology bites
November 13th, 2003 · No Comments
So the past couple of days have been quite interesting.
On monday, some site or another that one of us went to decided to start downloading/installing tons of apps. mySearch toolbar, Lycos search agent, some coupon thing, a clock sync program and a weather app.
What is odd is that we don’t (really we don’t) go […]

I’m not sure what kind of prompts people like, but personally I like having the cwd in my prompt. This gets rather long when you’re using terminal monkey, so here’s something you can include in your bash startup file (for RH9 it appears to be your .bash_profile )

How […]

Python 2.2.2 (#1, Nov 13 2002, 15:50:06)
[GCC 2.95.4 20020320 [FreeBSD]] on freebsd4
Type “help”, “copyright”, “credits” or “license” for more information.
>>> from poplib import *
>>> s = POP3(’my.mailhost.com’)
>>> s.user(’username’)

evaluation

I’m evaluating a piece of software called postnuke. Now I haven’t taken a chance to look at the code, but from what I see above the hood I’m very impressed.
Straight off with the installer (web installer), I’ve been impressed with what you get out of the box. There’s something to be said for […]

If you’re an astute reader, you’ll notice something in the lower right corner of the blog. See, there below the archives, below the links. What is that you must be saying. Well here is what it is.
It is the last 5 songs that I have listened to. Whether I’m at work, or […]
