2006 cycling events for me

December 30th, 2005 · 1 Comment

Since the new year is almost upon us, I thought I’d dig around and get a schedule of events in 2006 that I’d like to do.
A few are classics that I just enjoy riding, however there are also a few that I haven’t done and feature a new theme.
Competition.
With that in […]

Transportation Alternatives? - 6th Avenue Bike Lane

December 20th, 2005 · No Comments

This one-minute video from Transporation Alternatives shows the hazards of riding in a bike lane on a busy New York street. Delivery drivers and taxis use the bike lane as a load and unload zone, with taxi passengers opening doors right in front of cyclists.
Transportation Alternatives wrote an open letter to New York Deputy […]

New mouse.

December 19th, 2005 · No Comments

This is really just a placemark.
I picked up a new MS Optical wireless mouse for 35 bucks. I was getting tired of the cord getting caught up and just generally being a PITA.
They say the 2 AA’s will last 6 mos. I’m going to test that out.

Could I get that sidewalk on the rocks?

December 19th, 2005 · No Comments

It’s surprising how things can turn out some days.
It was the first morning where there wasn’t frost on the lawn for probably the past week. So I figured riding in would be great.
No scraping the windsheild and as a matter of fact, it was raining when I got down to the park. […]

London Retires Classic Double-Decker Bus

December 15th, 2005 · No Comments

I heard from a friend who recently came from London, saying they were phasing out the double-deckers for the longer articulating variety.
I’m totally bummed. I mean, you think of Red, double-decker bus, and you think London. Everyone has the bendy busses, not so many have the double-decker ones.

After half a […]

NewsGator Online

December 13th, 2005 · No Comments

I’ve been noticing off and on (more on recently) that bloglines is sort of acting not so good.
It’ll display items that I’ve already read (not an updated post), or even better when it does update and I go to read, there will be posts that are 5 days old.
So, with this general unhappiness comes the […]

Dynamically calling an object in Python… and stuff.

December 11th, 2005 · No Comments

So I’m in the process of doing a refactor of some code and I thought I’d share a little on where it is going.
I’m morphing some code into a server that serves requests from a web browser. The idea being that it is a “client” but you access your UI from a web browser.
This is […]

The Daily Show - Videos - Most Recent

December 8th, 2005 · No Comments

I find that being a regular Daily Show viewer is something that I’d like to be but just isn’t going to happen.
To help with this though, there is a handy RSS feed of the most recent show clips. This is cool because, generally speaking they’re the best of each show.
The next step in this […]
