Well that's right. It's the week before Thanksgiving and I've got 4,211 miles logged for the year.
I verbalized a goal of 5,000 during the 2004 year that I just didn't make (3,472). With that I figured I'd shoot for it this year but not really saying it as an "official" goal.
With 6 weeks left in the year I've got a real chance of making it.
Given that I have 14 miles for the home leg (I'm driving down to the park when it's dark out now), that puts me at 4225. Which means I have a deficit of 775 miles. If I divide that by commutes of 28miles round trip, I have to make roughly 28 more commutes (27.67 to be exact).
Now, there are exactly 27 commutable days left in the year which looks to mean that I'm not going to be able to take a break (I'll find that I try to bus/drive in once every week or 2).
I've been toying around with doing a Thanksgiving morning ride so I may have to work that in for sure. Perhaps a Christmas morning ride as well. And with three races left I should be good.
