spamCheck

This is a small script that is a part of a whole solution that tries to manage spam in a better way. This script is intended to be a cronjob that is used in conjunction with a few .qmail files, and a known_addr file.

The effect is that you don’t get any spam in your INBOX. You can either check your spam folder manually, or use this script to have it send you a summary
all of the spam messages in your spam folder (from/subj only).

I was going to have this do spam for the current day only, but I figure you can manage the removal of your spam messages on your own, and getting an email each day with a larger and larger list of spam messages may help motivate that.

I also employ spamAssassin (since my web host provides it), so if any of you do use it, this works with it as well. You really shouldn’t need it (spamAssassin) because this solution would just put everything in the spam folder.

I’ve had this around for a bit but haven’t used it for awhile. Thanks to JH for helping out with the .qmail files.
