I'd like to talk about the Cat EyeEL-300 bike light a bit tonight.

I got it last summer thinking it'd make a great alternative to my Sigma Sport lighting system that I have now. I knew that going from 15w to this would be a change, but I was thinking it'd be doable.

Turns out that even when it is pitch black, you're always straining to see what the hell is in front of you.

What is even worse, is in the morning there is a magical time when the light pretty much gets washed out because it is getting just light enough to not be pitch black, but yet dark enough where you'd sure like some light.

I have to give it to Cat Eye, the mounting system on this thing is truly amazing. It is basically quick release. No screwdriver to worry about.

This is a decent enough light if you want something to let people know you're coming down the road, but other than the Snoqualmie tunnel, this thing is hitting my misc parts box.
